Ongoing Projects

Improving the quality of the Presec library has been on our radars from the very onset. In 2003-2004, we supplied two new shelves to the library in response to an urgent request from the school. We also provided new mosquito netting to create an ideal environment for evening studies (in order to avoid mosquito war).

To encourage US college education among presecans, we provided essential resources such as SATI and II prep books, model college application essays, international student guides, catalogues to about 150 colleges and universities, scholarship information etc. We strongly believe that Presecans are full of talent/potential and college education in the US and other places provides great opportunities for the development of such talent/potential.

We are currently building on what has been achieved by restocking the library with new SAT books. This is particularly pertinent because College Board adopted a new structure for the SAT examination. We have also contacted some schools and asked them to send over to Presec copies of their catalogues, books, posters etc. Our target list of colleges and universities is over 300. This will enable Presecans jump-start their scholarship application process.

We initiated the first ever mentorship program for presec. Several Odadee from all over the world volunteered to be part of this program. We have also coordinated a number of motivational forums where Odadee share their experiences with current students in Presec. The mentorship program continues to motivate presecans to aspire to greater heights in academia. With an active participation from our friends in Ghana and abroad, we hope to expand the mentorship program to organize activities such us: College Fairs, Career Fairs etc that will continue to motivate current students in Presec to strive towards excellence.

We initiated a need/merit based scholarship program in Presec. Our objective is to support students with superior academic achievement who face significant financial challenges.                             New Initiatives

Going forward, we hope to encourage innovation among presecans by supporting student projects. We are working currently with the school to identify a project supervisor and would put details of the project on this website.

We are hoping to organize a career fair this year. This fair will provide current students with a forum to discuss with alumni the different career options that different subject specializations may lead to.

This will also give current students the opportunity to obtain first hand information on the different programs being offered at different universities and potential job opportunities for program graduates.
